No real surprises here, all the plates are particle board with vinyl covering, everything goes together with screws and the first few steps are just a tad bit tricky as the structure isn't firmed up until you attach the metal sides.No big deal, if you are used to putting this type of stuff together it's fine, but they're not pre-built at all and require quite a bit of assembly.Having said that the end product looks really nice for the money, just realize the limitations of the board finish and make sure to use some sort of protection setting stuff on the top.Pricing seems to vary a lot with shipping, and the best deal is going to be on two because the packaging is setup for that.So shop carefully before you order.

Once completed, they are very nice stands. The instructions could be more specific about board placement, as when we were done with the first one, the holes for the inside hinge was opposite of where the door holes were. The second time we got it right. It was boards 5,8,10 that they should specify.Definitely a 2 PERSON ASSEMBLY. the pegs they send to hold the first three boards together are an absolute JOKE. Too skinny and barely long enough.We had to hold it together until we got the legs on it. With having a board backwards (not specified in instructions) and holding it together, the first took about 40-45 minutes to assemble. The second only 20 minutes.We really like them, but the pegs (dowels) were very frustrating!
